I am a Joe Satriani fan and keep looking for his songs on You Tube and also people who play covers of his songs.

I came across Jack Thammarat’s channel. He is an awesome musician. Just check out this cover. Just check out the amazing improvisation in the end.

2 Techinques for speed guitar playing.

There are many techniques that we can use to make a guitar sound good.  Speed is a factor that is important to lot of people who love the guitar and everybody likes speed guitar playing.

One right hand guitar technique that is used very often is to use alternate picking when you are playing guitar scales. This can help the guitarist to achieve awesome speed. One thing important when anybody does alternate picking is synchronization of both the hands at high beat per minutes.  There are many guitarists who have mastered this technique however I would like to mention one great guitarist who can play awesome fast guitar runs and that guitarist is John Petrucci. In the video below you can see how awesome he is.

To build speed one has to practice guitar with a metronome for long hours and practice scales. This can be monotonous sometimes.

Other left hand technique that is used to play fast runs on the guitar without the use of right hand is legato playing. Legato means ‘smooth’. One has to use pull offs and hammer ons to achieve the legato sound.  By using this method the guitar sounds good. Joe Satriani plays some awesome legato as you can see in the video below:

Three musical instruments that touched my heart.

When an expert plays a musical instrument, you can experience some human emotions from the tune that you hear.  Anybody who starts playing any musical instrument has to develop the skills that will help him to show his true inner feelings when he plays the musical instrument.  A person who has mastered a musical instrument can play happy tunes and sad tunes.

There are lot of musical pieces and musical instruments in the world that must have touched your heart however I would like to like to talk about some musical instruments.

Electric Guitar – Guitar has evolved from acoustic guitar to solid electric guitars that you see in the world. Anyone who plays the electric guitar has to be careful when they play the electric guitar because one wrong note can really spoil the whole musical phrase that he or she is playing.

Among many others who have mastered the electric guitar, I would like to mention Joe Satriani who is an awesome guitarist and the compositions that he has made are awesome. You can notice his technique is perfect and all the guitar tunes that he plays are great

Violin – Violin is another musical instrument that can express human emotions. It’s used for background scores in so many movies.  A violin can express emotions of anger and love very efficiently.  Whenever a violinist plays anything, the note sustains for a very long time and this gives some additional pleasure to the listener.

Keyboard – keyboard is an instrument that can play as many instruments. What I meant is that new synthesizers that we get in the market are capable of making sounds of many of instruments and they have a versatility that a music composer is looking for. From getting the guitar sound to some percussion sounds, one can get any sound that person wants.  Most of the famous pop songs are made on a keyboard alone. Many musicians don’t like this approach and they still like the way in which different musicians are involved in making a musical piece.

Original Music

I like listening to original and unique music. I feel whichever band we listen to is influenced by some other band.

All the bands that we listen have some influences and this can be seen in some of the compositions they create. It’s very difficult to be original and unique. If someone is unique and if his or her music is different from mainstream music, then such bands have to have to wait for some time before they get an audience. However there are some cases when some different and unique bands have got success instantly.

So have you ever thought what makes these bands unique and how they make such excellent music.  I have thought a lot about this and as I am a musician, I feel people who create unique music blend their emotions with their music.  Because of this, the creation of their unique music takes place.

The way they play their musical instruments also matter a lot.  The music harmony of their song is not that we hear in regular music. Usually they create a new chord progression which somebody as never thought about and new unique song is born. This is my opinion and I feel unique songs are made when a person experiments with his music.

A desire to make original music should also be there.  If the desire is not there, then no one can make unique music.

Street Musicians.

Yesterday, I was watching some Street musicians playing on You Tube and I saw this guy performing. He is amazing. He is playing drums and guitar at the same time. Check him out
